UK – A new learning program for the advertising industry has been launched by network marketing The&Partnership and mSix&Partners, a joint venture between The&Partnership and GroupM.
Based on a brand new campus in Birmingham, The&Academy will provide full-time education and work experience to the next generation of diverse talent, who may not otherwise have considered a career in the digital and creative industries.
Apprentices will learn and apply essential skills for the future in digital, technology and data.
In its first year, the aim is to attract up to 25 apprentices from Birmingham and surrounding areas. In the coming years, The&Academy will expand to North America and Europe.
The&Academy will be delivered by Multiverse, a provider of learning programs for diverse future leaders, with the aim of establishing the first-ever center of excellence for media and creative specialists in Birmingham.
The partnership with Meta, Google and TikTok will ensure apprentices learn and work alongside top media, digital and creative specialists.
The&Academy aims to address some of the pressing issues currently facing the advertising industry, as well as the creative industries in general. More than half of CMOs believe a skills shortage is holding the industry back.
During the one-year course, the program will cover key principles of media and creative disciplines and incorporate partnerships with some of the biggest names in media and technology.
Commenting on the initiative, Johnny Hornby, Chief Executive Officer of The&Partnership, said: “Great brands are built by bringing together diverse creators and I am proud that The&Partnership and mSix&Partners are helping to shape the next generation of digital and creative talent.
“And, of course, digital, technology and data are critical skills for the future, not just in advertising, but across the economy.”
