Tell us about your childhood and your family.
I was born and raised in Mumbai and hence I stay with my family. My father is a retired GST commissioner and currently handles GST cases as he is also a barrister in the High Court. I have an older brother and our mother is a housewife.
When did you discover the actor in you?
Since my childhood, I wanted to be an actor but my family never took it seriously. When I first saw Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, I was very impressed. Since that day, I wanted to become an actor.
Have you had any acting training?
After finishing the MBA, the next day I signed up for an acting class. Before that, I had started working as a marketing manager in an advertising agency. I choose to act because it gives me satisfaction.
Ziddi Dil is your 25th show; How do you feel?
It’s the silver jubilee show of my life and it’s very special. This is a big milestone for me — 25 shows in eight years!
What do you like to do when you’re not touring?
When I’m not shooting, I go to the gym. I watch movies at the cinema or on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Most of the time, I rest because I have fewer vacations.
How do you maintain such a good and fit body?
I just maintain one rule – don’t have anything unhealthy on the sets. I eat salad. I have a sweet tooth, but I’m going to be without it very soon.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
When I work, I am very happy! My grandfather used to tell me that a busy person is always respected. If you sit around doing nothing, you begin to doubt yourself and lose your focus. For me, perfect happiness is when I work and have fun with the team.
Who is your inspiration in life?
My dad is my biggest inspiration in life. There are many things that I still learn from him.
